Born on the Island of Bermuda Winfield has a very wide and diverse cultural backround. He often says that he is the luckiest person he knows because of his heritage. How do you describe growing up in paradise, you can't but you can express it and he has chosen music as his form of expression. His journey in music started with private guitar lessons at the age of thirteen with the legendary guitarist Norman Aswood also of Bermuda who told him "never give up your dreams of hearing, feeling and playing music". Althougt it has taken many years and many of life's challenges, he took that advice and learned how to play every instrament he could get his hands on. Wile he enjoys playing different instruments his main X is the Bass.
With Bermuda having it's roots mostly in the caribbean but only three hours from the East coast, the combination of both worlds make for a wealth of diversity in music. R&B, Rock, Raggae, Calypso and Jazz were all a part of the daily diet of music and he ate it up.. Although Smooth Jazz is the music that calls out to him, he loves all music. Playing in a number of small bands around the island , you know "the local scene" he finally landed a gig with the number one show band on the Island, THE JIMMY O"CONNOR SHOW". After working with Jimmy for a little more then a year, he moved to North Eastern Ohio but he knew that music was what he was ment to do. However the road ahead would be twenty years long but he never gave up " Hearing it, Feeling it" and in July 2007 Winfield released his first album Midnight Player and only seven months later released his second album C Street. Winfield says his inspiration comes from many things, people and places. It's about life he says and you only have one so make the most of it.
